Why do you want to establish her power?
Crystal Wang
Founder
I want to establish and commit to a community that empowers all women and girls. I want to see:
- hundreds and thousands of people become involved,
- people become encouraged to look for greater understanding of gender-related challenges, and
- all these lead to more sustainable and positive solutions towards real life problems.
Her Power is a platform for collective wisdom to impact, empower and improve life for all women and girls.

I am a man who has witnessed dozens of incredible women around me making the impossible possible.
I am a man whose life has been fundamentally transformed with the tremendous support, guidance, and mentorship received from women that I respect.
When I look around, I am not alone. Men or Women, all have females around us whose strengths, resilience, courage, and love have inspired us and could have inspired many more.
Her power is magic, which can change this world into a better place.
More people need to see this magic. More people should benefit from her power.

I have seen sexual harassment during work place. When I just started, I remembered that a manager told us during a training session that we should target more male clients and use light physical contact with clients or referrals during meetings as this would help getting deals done. I disagreed with this value as I always believed that proficiency is the key to stay competitive in any industry. However, there are still many females in the industry following this wrong value and unfortunately getting hurt during work.
I’ve also seen from my clients, especially female clients suffering, from financial loss during investment and during divorce due to lack of information and access of professional services.
Last but not least and for my daughter, I want this value to pass on to her. I want her to grow up as a human being with confidence, independence, a loving heart and social responsibility.

I believe gender equality is a dynamic process that has started extremely slow in the past but that has been escalating in the last few decades. However until all genders have the same opportunities in society there will always be the need for people to stand up and fight for it.
At the present moment there are inequalities on different sides but clearly women are in disadvantage in many aspects. Hence we aim to support women and raise awareness for the creation of a more equal society.

Last year, while catching up with one of our senior managers, he suddenly said, "I'm going to resign." "Oh, did you find a new job?" I asked. He is a hard-working man and has a great opportunity in the company. "Congratulations! Where will you go?" "Actually, I'm about to stay at home and look after my kid," he said. "My wife was looking after him for the past 2 years. Now it's my turn, and she is going to find a job and pursue her career."
I was really surprised when I heard this answer. Traditionally in my culture, women are supposed to be the ones to give up their career to look after children and the family. When I attended events before, female professionals were always being asked, "How will you balance your family and career?" No matter how high a level they achieved, I rarely heard males being asked these types of questions. Previously, I thought this was natural, but after the conversation with this senior manager, I started to believe that there are more things we need to do for gender equality until one day the family-career question is not specifically for females.
